About Us :: Green Building
We believe in doing our part for the environment is an investment
in the future. Giving our clients information and access to environmentally
friendly building techniques and materials is just the start. To
best meet the expectations for whatever shade of green you prefer,
Joseph Irons and several of his team have earned their Certified
Green Professional designation from National
Association of Home Buiilders.
What is a CGP (Certified Green Professional)?
Green building is the use of quality building practices that promote
sustainability to make your home healthier and more efficient.
The CGP designation means our team has a solid background in green
building materials, methods, and tools to meet your needs. We understand
and are experienced in the principles of energy, water, and resource
efficiency, as well as indoor and environmental air quality. For
you this means that we incorporate green building principles into
our home remodels utilizing cost-effective and affordable options.
We also have completed the Healthy House Training for Building
Professionals sponsored by the American Lung Association.
Your family’s health and safety is our top priority! As
a Certified Lead Renovator, Irons Brothers Construction has the
knowledge, training, and certification required by the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) to renovate and remodel your home right.
If your home was built before 1978, visit www.epa.gov/lead for
important lead hazard information. See our Consumer
Tips page for
further information on selecting the right contractor for your
project.
How Green Are You?
We work with all shades of
green at Irons Brothers Construction. Let us know your green goals
and we will exceed them! Our Green Practices include: an
onsite recycling plan for every project, involving careful and
considerate demolition practices to sort actual waste from items
that can be reused, recycled or donated. Our organizational system
means as few trips to the waste facilities as possible, and our
fleet of vehicles accept bio-diesel fuel. We even use green cleaning
products while in your home, just as we do in our offices.
Home Energy Audits
If you're concerned about
rising energy costs and your home's energy efficiency, a Home
Energy Audit may benefit you. It can also be a helpful
tool in
planning your remodeling project. The testing results can provide
cost effective solutions for water damage and other unforeseen
problems within your home’s walls. It measures your
home's efficiency and safety and diagnoses its performance, providing
you with information on how to make your home
healthier and more efficient.
